FAQ

How does BeatScreen record my screen?

BeatScreen records your Mac screen while separately capturing system audio, microphone input, webcam footage, and cursor movements. Each element stays editable after recording, so you can refine the video, audio, camera, and cursor independently. It automatically creates zoom regions around your clicks, and keyboard activity can keep the zoom active. Refine those regions in the editor, add Auto Zoom to follow the cursor, or use Custom Zoom to draw attention to a specific area. You can also change the cursor’s size, effects, and icon. For looping videos, its final position can transition smoothly back to where it began.

What are the system requirements?

BeatScreen is a Mac app for macOS 14.0 or later on Apple Silicon. It is not currently available for Windows.

Can I try BeatScreen for free?

Yes. You can download BeatScreen for free and use it to record and edit your videos. A subscription is only needed when you’re ready to export your finished video, so you can make sure it fits your workflow first.

Can I record system audio, my microphone, and webcam together?

Yes. BeatScreen can capture system audio, microphone input, and webcam footage in one recording. The editor lets you refine each segment afterward, including its audio and camera settings, so you can make a focused tutorial, demo, or walkthrough without stitching separate recordings together.

Can I edit videos recorded outside BeatScreen?

Yes. Import regular video files and edit them in BeatScreen, even if they were not captured by the app. You can add background treatments, Custom Zoom, captions, and masks to bring existing footage into the same editing workflow.

Are my recordings and edits private?

Yes. BeatScreen records and processes your screen content locally on your Mac. Your recordings, edits, and exports stay on your device and are not uploaded to, stored by, or accessible to BeatScreen.

How do plans, billing, and license recovery work?
