Overview

This Privacy Policy explains what information BeatScreen (“we”, “us”, the “App”) collects, how we use it, and the choices you have. It applies to the BeatScreen website (beatscreen.app) and the BeatScreen macOS application.

We designed BeatScreen to keep your content on your device. We do not upload, store, or have access to your screen recordings.

BeatScreen does not provide user accounts for the website or App. Purchase and subscription access is provided by Lemon Squeezy using the email address entered at checkout.

Information we collect

Recordings and content. BeatScreen records your screen locally on your Mac. Recordings, edits, and exports are stored on your device and are never transmitted to us.

Purchase and license data. Lemon Squeezy processes payments, orders, billing information, and license records. The App sends your license key and device name directly to Lemon Squeezy when you activate or validate a license. The BeatScreen website does not collect or store payment card details, order history, billing information, or license records. Lemon Squeezy’s Privacy Policy applies to the data it processes.

Support communications. If you email us about a bug, feedback, or a private matter relating to BeatScreen, we receive your message and email address to respond. Use the email address from your purchase to manage your subscription, purchase history, receipts, and license key in Lemon Squeezy.

Website usage. The website is a static site and does not set advertising or cross-site tracking cookies. Our hosting provider may process standard server logs (such as IP address and user agent) for security and reliability.

How we use information

  • To respond to bug reports, feedback, and private support messages about BeatScreen.
  • To operate and secure the website.

Lemon Squeezy independently processes payment, order, billing, subscription, and license data under its own policies.

Cookies

The BeatScreen website does not use cookies for advertising or cross-site tracking. Strictly necessary cookies or local storage may be used to operate core functionality. Third-party services we link to, such as the Lemon Squeezy checkout, set their own cookies under their own policies when you visit them.

Third-party services

We rely on the following service providers, who process data under their own privacy policies:

  • Lemon Squeezy — Merchant of Record for payments, licensing, and refunds.
  • GitHub — hosts application downloads and releases.
  • Cloudflare — hosts the website and provides email routing for support.

Data retention

The BeatScreen website does not retain payment, order, billing, subscription, or license records. Lemon Squeezy retains the payment data it processes under its own privacy policy. Support emails are handled by the receiving email service and are not stored by the BeatScreen website.

Your rights

For payment, order, billing, subscription, or license data, make access, correction, deletion, portability, or other privacy requests directly to Lemon Squeezy. You can manage routine purchase matters with the Lemon Squeezy customer portal and purchase history page.

Children

BeatScreen is not directed to children under 14, and we do not knowingly collect personal data from them.

Changes to this policy

We may update this Privacy Policy from time to time. Material changes will be reflected by updating the “Last updated” date above.
